Privacy Policy

  1. Introduction

    1. SSG is the owner of the Developer Portal. SSG provides application programming interfaces on the Developer Portal and the terms governing the use of SSG's APIs are the API Terms of Use, the Developer Portal Terms of Use (the "Terms of Use"), and this Privacy Policy. The words "we", "us, and "our" refer to SSG. Unless the context requires otherwise, the definitions found in the API Terms of Use and the Terms of Use will apply to this Privacy Policy.
    2. This Privacy Policy is between SSG and you as a Visitor or Registered User where applicable.
    3. By accessing or using the Developer Portal or any of SSG's APIs, you:
      1. represent and warrant to SSG that you have mental and legal capacity to consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and if you do not have mental or legal capacity, you confirm that you have your parent's or legal guardian's consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy;
      2. represent and warrant to SSG, if you are acting on behalf of an entity, that the entity you are acting for is a duly incorporated or constituted entity under the laws of the country in which it is incorporated or constituted and you have the capacity and authority to act on behalf of such entity in relation to this Privacy Policy; and
      3. are deemed to have read, understood, and accepted the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and the API Terms of Use.
  2. Information We Collect

    1. We collect personal data provided by you. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, personal data refers to all and any data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data and obtained by SSG, which SSG can use to identify or contact an individual, including the individual's name, email address, telephone number, and other personal information.
    2. We may collect information from you in the following instances:
      1. When you register an account with us.
      2. When you use accounts created on other platforms, such as GitHub and CorpPass, to create an account.
      3. When you provide us any information in your communications with us including but not limited to contacting SSG for any enquiry, feedback, problems, and any request for approval.
    3. At all times, you are not under any obligation to provide any information to us.
    4. However, if you choose to withhold certain information, revoke permission for us to receive information or delete any information, this may result in us being unable to provide certain aspects of our services to you or fulfil your requests.
    5. In the event that you provide us with any information relating to a third party (e.g. information of your spouse, children, parents, employees etc), you represent and warrant to us that you have sought for and obtained the consent of the relevant third party to provide us with his or her information for the respective purposes.
  3. Use of Personal Data

    1. The purposes for which we may use the information collected from you include (without limitation) the following:
      1. verifying your identity, update our records and generally administer and maintain your account with us;
      2. communicating any relevant information, requests and approvals to you; and
      3. responding to any feedback or problem which you have informed us of.
  4. Third Party Disclosure

    1. Unless prohibited by law, we may disclose personal data provided by you to:
      1. government authorities, regulators, and agencies;
      2. statutory boards;
      3. our professional advisers, including without limitation our lawyers, accountants and auditors;
      4. our third-party service providers (including those who provide administrative or other services to us in connection with the operation of the Developer Portal or any of SSG's APIs) or data processors;
      5. any third party, where it is necessary to enforce the Terms of Use, the API Terms of Use, and this Privacy Policy to protect the safety of our users and third parties, to protect our rights and property and the rights and property of other users and third parties, or in other cases if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law; or
      6. any agent, employer, contractor, or any other authorised person acting on our behalf.
  5. Accessing and Updating Your Information

    1. You are able to access and update your information within the Developer Portal through the use of the "Profile" tab of your account.
    2. Where you have provided personal information about yourself to us, the responsibility falls on you to provide us with accurate, not misleading, complete and up-to-date information about yourself and to update your personal information as and when such information becomes inaccurate, misleading, incomplete or out-of-date.
    3. In certain circumstances, it may be necessary for you to provide to us personal information about a third party. If this is the case, we are relying on you to inform these individuals that you are providing their personal information to us and, by providing to us such personal information of third parties, you warrant and represent that such third parties have read this Privacy Policy and you have obtained their consents: (i) to provide us with their information, and (ii) for us to use their information.
  6. Data Retention

    1. Please note in particular that we generally do not monitor or remove the information which you share and such information may continue to remain available on the Developer Portal even after your account has been deactivated, terminated or is otherwise closed. You are and remain at all times, wholly responsible for the information that you choose to share with other users through the use of the Developer Portal.
  7. Tracking Technologies

    1. Tracking technologies are used in the Developer Portal. Such tracking technologies enable us to understand how you utilise the Developer Portal which, in turn, helps us to modify and improve how we provide our products and services to you. To this end, we have listed out below some examples of the tracking technologies that may be used on the Developer Portal:
      1. Cookies. A cookie is a small data file sent from the Developer Portal to your browser that is stored on your device. Cookies are used for a number of purposes, including to display the most appropriate content based on your interests and activity on our products and services, estimate and report the Developer Portal's total audience size and traffic, and conduct research to improve our products and services.
      2. Clear gifs. Clear gifs (a.k.a. web beacons or web bugs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of web users that may be included on the Developer Portal. They help us better manage content on the Developer Portal by informing us what content is effective. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user's computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence.
      3. Flash cookies. We may use flash cookies (a.k.a local shared objects or LSOs) to store some of your viewing preferences on the Developer Portal. These are used to collect and store information, but differ from browser cookies in the amount, type and manner in which data is stored.
    2. You can choose to disable cookies from being stored on your computer by changing your browser settings. Disabling cookies, however, may result in a limited experience of our functionality and services and in some cases may mean that we are unable to provide you with the services, or parts of the services, that you have requested.
  8. Security

    1. We have put in place security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of information under our control. While we strive to protect your information under transmission or in storage, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
    2. Please note that we may utilise certain third-party software in connection with the provision of the Developer Portal and we are unable to bear any responsibility or liability for any loss, misuse and/or alteration of information which may result from the use of any such third-party software. Further, you should be aware that we have no control over the security of other sites on the internet that you may visit when a link to any such third-party site appears on the Developer Portal.
    3. It is of utmost importance that you protect your account against unauthorised access by choosing your password carefully and keeping your password and account secure (e.g. by signing out after using the Developer Portal). It is your responsibility to maintain the secrecy of your account username and password. You are solely responsible for the management and protection of your username and password and may under no circumstance transfer your account to a third party or let others use your account.
  9. Third Party Sites and Resources

    1. The Developer Portal may, from time to time, contain links to external sites or resources which are operated by third parties. Do note that we have no control over the content and privacy practices of such sites or resources and we will not be liable for any losses, expenses, damages, claims, or costs of any kind incurred by you in connection with your use of such third party sites and resources. You are strongly advised to review the privacy policies of these sites and resources operated by third parties and understand how your information may be used by those third parties.
    2. This Privacy Policy is not intended to, nor does it, give you any contractual rights or any other legal rights. This Privacy Policy does not create any obligations on SSG owing to you or any other party. SSG will not be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners or operators of any third party.
  10. Rights of Third Parties

    1. For the avoidance of doubt, any person who is not a party to this Privacy Policy will not have any rights to enforce any terms under this Privacy Policy.
  11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

    1. We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and all changes that have been made will be published here. Please check back frequently to view any updates or changes that have been made to this Privacy Policy.
    2. Please note that it is your responsibility to review and take note of the changes which we make to this Privacy Policy.
    3. At all times, your continued use of the Developer Portal or any of SSG's APIs constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy, as the case may be.

  13. Governing Law

    1. This Privacy Policy will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Singapore courts. Notwithstanding the aforesaid, SSG may elect to have disputes arising from this Privacy Policy resolved by way of arbitration. The arbitration will be in accordance with the rules of Singapore International Arbitration Centre for the time being in force and the seat of arbitration will be in Singapore. The arbitration tribunal will consist of one arbitrator appointed by SSG and the language of arbitration will be in English.
